AAMT Instructor
Dr. Sam Fischer is a graduate of the AAMT Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy. He works in private practice at Active PT & Sports in Rochester, MN. Dr. Fischer serves as the Director of Active PT & Sports Residency Program.
Dr. Fischer earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences and graduated from the Mayo Clinic Orthopaedic Residency program. He is recognized as a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, and he has earned the Diploma in Osteopractic through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy. Dr. Fischer is also on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Physical Therapy Association.
In the clinic, Dr. Fischer specializes in the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal spinal conditions and tactical athlete populations. Dr. Fischer has published in the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation and the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. His research interests include the neurophysiological mechanisms of manual therapy and dry needling, specifically as they pertain to knee, spine, and powerlifting injuries.
Dr. Fischer enjoys powerlifting and coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at a local gym in Rochester, MN.
