Dr. Matthew Kearns, DPT, Dip. Osteopractic, FAAOMPT is an Osteopractic Physical Therapist and co-owner at BrownStone Physical Therapy, NY. He also serves as Professor at Daemen College in New York where he teaches graduate level gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, and orthopedic physical diagnosis in the Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training programs.
Dr. Kearns received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Daemen College in New York, earned the Diploma in Osteopractic through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, and also became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) following completion of the 12-month, APTA-accredited AAMT Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy.
In 2013, Dr. Kearns was named one of Buffalo’s Business First most influential people under 30 years old. Dr. Kearns’ recent publications include: (1) Physical therapists as practitioners of choice: consumer knowledge of practitioner skills and training (Journal of Physical Therapy Education, 2014); (2) Case study: soccer player with ankle sprain: the use of social media to supplement physical therapy intervention (Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice, 2012); and (3) APTA’s vision 2020: Was it abandoned in 2013?
